Auditing & Consultancy

Marine & Safety Audit
This audit is required to ensure that the vessel meets the requirements of IMO and those specified for the 'Certificate of Class.'

The auditor should report any con-conformance as soon as possible to the Company representative, the Vessel Master, and the Contractor Senior Representative.

Vessel inspections will be based on the International Maritime Contractors Association Common Marine Inspection Document.

Common Marine Inspections

Common Marine Inspections Document (CMID) audits are industry standard safety and suitability surveys designed to reduce the disruption to the vessel's operations, whilst at the same time ensuring that standards are maintained. In the past, each client had their own requirements and survey standards, meaning that vessels taken from the spot market were subject to client audits prior to being taken on charter. This could entail a full audit, with the disruption and stress to the ship and crew on an almost weekly basis if going on and off-hire to various clients.

The CMID is a standard audit undertaken at regular intervals (Annually) to a standard format that is accepted by all clients. Should clients require additional areas of inspection, this can be incorporated into the standard CMID as an addition or alternatively be subject to a brief survey, covering only the areas not reported under the standard CMID.

The CMID is, we feel, the way forward for clients, shipowners/ operators, and ship crews in maintaining standards whilst reducing the frequency of audits. You can be sure that we will do your audit as efficiently as possible, with notification of any non-conformities immediately following the survey.

A full report is normally issued electronically within 5 working days, with hard copies forwarded by surface mail to your nominated person at the same time as they are sent electronically.

All CMID reports will contain full color photographs as a matter of course.

For surveys on a fleet basis, Verret Marine will maintain a database of your vessels, with expected survey frequency, and will advise you one month in advance of survey dates to assist you with planning and facilitate vessel availability. We supply the full package, with follow-up of Nonconformances and reporting to your shore-based management of the status of the same.

For your CMID requirements, please contact us today for more information, an informal meeting, or to discuss how we may help you with your requirements.
